§ 01 · The app
What does the Tendro app do?
Tendro photographs any printed event badge or business card, enriches the contact, and syncs it to your CRM. Works offline. $499 per event with unlimited team members.
Three steps at the booth. Photograph the badge, add a tag or a note while the conversation is fresh, save. Tendro reads the printed text, enrichment fills in verified email, title, company, and firmographics, and the record writes to your CRM. The whole capture takes about ten seconds of booth time.
It is the same product on the web dashboard and the phone. The app is where scans happen; the dashboard is where the team reviews, dedupes, and reads event ROI afterwards. The full mechanism is on the Tendro homepage, and the sync path is walked through in real-time CRM sync for event leads.
§ 02 · The badge
Which badges can it scan?
Any printed badge. Tendro reads the name, title, and company off the badge face with OCR, then enriches the rest. No organizer app or contract.
Here is the honest limit. On most major shows the badge QR carries an organizer ID; only the organizer resolves it. That ID is a license plate with no meaning outside the organizer's database, which is why organizers can rent you a scanner. Tendro never needs to decode it. The name and company printed on the face are enough to start, and enrichment returns the rest.
That makes the same app work at IMTS, PACK EXPO, a regional distributor day, and the hotel-ballroom conference with badges printed at the front desk. Show-specific reads, including what the organizer scanner costs there, are on the IMTS page and the PACK EXPO page. The mechanism in full is in the universal badge scanner explainer.
One check before you fly: exhibitor contracts vary on third-party capture policies. Read yours.
§ 03 · Offline
Does it work without WiFi on the show floor?
Yes. Every capture saves to the phone first and queues locally. When signal returns, the backlog uploads in scan order with the original timestamps.
Capture, notes, and tags never wait on the venue. The photo and its metadata sit in an on-device queue with a per-capture idempotency key, so a retry after a dropped connection cannot create a duplicate lead. The queue is stamped with the user who captured it, which matters on a shared booth phone that changes hands.
Enrichment and CRM sync run server-side once the upload lands, so the ten-second scan-to-CRM figure applies on a live connection. Offline captures sync the moment signal returns. Why the floor drops in the first place, McCormick Place's own 768 Kbps cap included, is in the offline badge scanner write-up.
§ 04 · Destinations
Which CRMs does the app sync to?
Salesforce and HubSpot natively, plus any CRM with a public API. Sync starts with your first paid event; the desk trial covers scans and enrichment.
Salesforce and HubSpot connect over native OAuth, with field mapping set per team and overridable per event. On a live connection a scanned lead is a record in the CRM in under 10 seconds, tagged with the event and routed to the owner.
Any other CRM with a public API is connected on request from the existing sync layer, typically live within a day. Ask from the chat bubble in the app before the show, and the connector is in place for your first paid event. The integration index lists what each destination receives.
§ 05 · Rate card
What does the app cost?
$499 per event with unlimited team members, never per device. Every rep on the booth scans on their own phone under one license. No hardware rental.
The full rate card, desk trial included, is on the pricing section. Line-by-line reads against the incumbents are in Cvent LeadCapture alternatives and iCapture alternatives, with the rest of the field on the alternatives hub.
§ 06 · Desk trial
How do I try it before a show?
Sign up free with no card, log in on the app, and scan the old badges on your desk. The trial is capped at 25 scans and has no time limit.
Create the account at app.tendro.com, then open the app and log in. You get a workspace and a sample event. Point the phone at last year's badges and the business cards in your drawer, and grade the enrichment on your own stack. We do not publish a blanket match rate; industrial badges enrich differently than SaaS ones, and the desk test exists so you can measure instead of trust.
The trial covers capture and enrichment. CRM sync switches on with the first paid event, so field mapping gets tested against a real show rather than a sandbox.
§ 07 · Cards
Does Tendro scan business cards?
Yes. Point the same camera at a business card. OCR reads the printed card, enrichment fills in the rest, and it lands in your CRM like a badge scan.
There is no separate card mode. The OCR step is written to read either a badge or a business card, so a rep who is handed a card at the booth takes the same photo and gets the same enriched record. Handwritten notes on the badge or card ride along in the lead's notes.
§ 08 · Platforms
Is there an Android app?
Yes. The Android app is the same product as the iOS app. One account and one event license cover both, so a mixed iPhone and Android booth is $499.
The app is one codebase shipped to both stores, so the capture flow, the offline queue, and the sync status look the same on each. Reps install whichever store their phone has; the team lead sees every capture in one list.
